I dreamt the Islanders, Rangers, and Devils won. So far both NY teams get the W.. Boston should be no problem.. right?

Why are we playing with seven d-men, it's not like we've been lighting up the scoreboard.

see this is what pisses me off. we don't even have four full lines of forwards dressed, but have 7 defenseman, and larsson of all people is scratched? AND we did nothing to fix this problem at yesterdays deadline besides acquiring a 38 year old sullivan? and why isn't he playing tonight? if clowe and those other idiots played for the rangers last night why the hell can't sullivan play a day later?

end rant.

More like 9th place, just so we do not get a top pick or make the playoffs.

Bergeron better not be out long. He's a big piece of my fantasy team. Stupid concussions. No reason they can't design better helmets, for both hockey and football players. Some concussion are unavoidable tho. Unfortunate. Imagine if Boston still had savard. Is Kelly done for the season? When these guys are healthy they're as strong as anyone.
We need at least a point out of this game. I think Sullivan was more about us getting scoring and offense in the absence of kovy, just to make the playoffs. Sullivan obviously > Kostopolous. When kovy comes back well have to scratch another but in the meantime Sullivan will help us. Not a futile move at all. Hope D'Agostini can find a niche soon. Kid can play, we're just a bit disoriented and disjointed lately. Hope Zubrus is better tonight too. We miss Parise so much it makes me crazy. Underdogs till the end! Someone's gotta rise up and make things happen.

Pretty sure sullivan isnt playing tonight he has him listed as a healthy scratch management is so damn confused as to whats going going on larsson should be the only player never scratched this is just blowing my mind lets trade for a guy we didnt need to have him as a healthy scratch can we pull our thumb out of our bumb yet this is getting stupid this circus

honestly it's a joke at this point. i can't believe we're a few weeks from the playoffs and we don't even have a solid grip on what lineup gives us a chance to win. rotating guys in and out on a nightly basis. it doesn't work. it hasn't for quite some time. we made the run last year when we stuck to a consistant lineup and consistant lines. line shifting never works. just ask the rangers.

rrright, i know Sullivan's not playing tonight. Larsson hasn't been all that great the past few weeks, he just has Greene there to clean up for him. Sullivan will help us offensively. I like the move. Would've preferred Jagr, but .. oh well!

Hard to develope when your getting the sh*t end of the stick all the time while others get a free pass no matter how bad they might be i mean this hole defense neesa to go outside of larsson hreen and fayne also how much can this season mean being a shortened one and us where we arein the standings we didnt decide to go all in at the deadline so why sit larsson when its not an all in year seems kinda stupid to me i would be sitting salvador tallinder and a train and bringing up urbom and gelinas to see what we have in them and what thwy can do at the big stage i mean itcn only make us faster and get a few new minds in our game

Larsson is 20 years old. He's a kid. Trying to learn a very difficult defensive system on the New Jersey Devils, the team that prides themselves on all-world defensemen. There is no way that scratching him does him any good, especially to his confidence. Gotta let the kid play, pair him with our best dman, and let him develop. Look at Victor Hedman. Drafted in 2009 and struggled a lot early in his career, but they stuck with him, and now he's one of the best dmen in the league. And still just 22.

I consider us really lucky that he has a quit calm attitude, and isn't someone much more outspoken and arrogant. Because his reaction to all of this play and sit nonsense wouldn't have turned out well. Will not surprise me one bit if he walks out the door of Pru Center for good the second he's a free agent. And I won't blame him.

And I don't mean to sit here on my computer and play the role of GM and coach, but honestly. At this point, what is the logic behind playing someone like Peter (frank)ing Harrold, who is in no way part of our long term plans, over a guy like Larsson who we drafted #4 overall to be our next franchise defenseman. Two, three year down the road, what is important? Why they refuse to look ahead to the future blows my mind. I hope we don't do this crap with Merrill.

You all realize Larsson is arguably the best defenseman NJ has and he's also second on the team as far as an outlet pass goes behind Brodeur, the (frank)ing goalie!

And he's on the bench. People wonder why this team blows?

And before anyone mentions Zidlickmyballs, he's the most penalized piece of poop on this team outside of Barch & Clarkson I think, and he doesn't drop the gloves.

He's erratic, takes weeks off at a time on the ice, and turnover prone (like all the other defensemen).

Last year was a fluke & this year the defense has played to it's true abilities.

Old, slow, diaper wearing POS Richardbags.

The end.

If Sullivan is the best Lou can do at this point, see you all at the draft.

Merrill will probably end up being a better d-man than Larsson (just my opinion, I'm not hating on Larsson I'm in the same boat as you), both Merrill & Boucher need to just start next season along with another young gun on defense, ship out a couple of these has-beens on defense, any three of A-train, Sal, Zidlicky & Tallinder, go with 6 of Larsson, Merrill, Fayne, Greene, Gelinas, Burlon, Urbom.

Bring up Boucher let him play & learn, bring up Kinkaid let him backup Brodeur, ship out Moose & let it be what it's gonna be.

Enough wussyfooting around.

Sorry, just venting.

It's almost like PDB plays favorites or lets the veteran dmen play out of respect. Much like Schiano did with his players at Rutgers. Pissed me off so much and make me even more mad to think that PDB is doing it at the pro level.

I don't know enough about guys like Gelinas or Burlon, but Urbom has definitely played enough in the AHL to the point where I don't know much more he can learn an improve playing in the minors. He absolutely deserves to be with the club full time next season. And if not, then ship him out while his value is still high. Merrill I think needs time in the AHL, although the level of college hockey he played in was pretty impressive, all while Captaining his team. He definitely deserves the chance to make the team next season, and at worst, be on the team halfway through next season as a call-up for full time minutes.

Realistically I know that Between Gelinas Burlo Larsson and Merrill, not all of them will pan out to be franchise guys for us.. but I think it's fair to except at LEAST three of them to become what we hope for.

In no particular order...
Larsson - Greene
Merrill - (any 1 of our current dmen)
Urbom - (same as above or one of our prospects)

That is the future IMO

Right now this team has...what? 9 or so 3rd/4th linders?

Poni, Clarkson, Zubrus (who's a top 6 in this system admittedly), Matteau, Bernier, Gio, Carter, Barch, Kostopoulos, now Sullivan. Probably Loktionov as the only guy with top 6 upside. Henrique, Kovy, Elias, Zajac (i guess) as top 6 guys. Zubrus because who else at this point.

A plethora of bargain bin shopping thrown on a roster won't necessarily lead to success.

agree 100%, but this org doesn't have the sack to start that many rookies or bring up someone like Kinkaid for example to be a backup next season.

I'd be genuinely amazed & shocked if they did.

Boucher could put up points like it's no one's business in camp, ALbany, etc, and they still wouldnt do it.
